Il'gynoth, The Heart of Corruption
- Nightmarish Fury --- Active mitigation.*** Heroic/Mythic: Each attack also permanently increases its physical damage inflicted by 5%. This stacks.
- Ground Slam - Long cast time. ---Stay Spread. (Possibly have designated direction to run when it targets a person)
- Rupturing Roar --- Someone needs to always be standing next to it.
- Eye of Fate - (Large amount of shadow damage in a line in front of it, increasing damage taken from Eye of Fate by 20% for 29 seconds) --- Tank swap on 2nd, and use Cd's. Point it away from the raid.
- Seeping Corruption --- Slowly kite it out of the pool
- Spew Corruption --- Run out of the raid to drop pools.
- Mind Flay --- Needs to be interrupted.
Kill Priority: Corruptor Tentacle > Deathglare Tentacles Dominator Tentacle > & Nightmare Horror ***Subject to change.
Every time one of these adds die, they spawn a blob, Nightmare Ichor.
Nightmare Ichor- Kite these to the eye to be killed.
- Touch of Corruption - (can be dispelled)
- Fixate --- Kite it around, until its time to kill it next to the eye.
- Nightmare Explosion - explosion upon death dealing damage to nearby players and The Eye. (Maybe 20 in total to explode on the eye to get inside the tree) ***Mythic: All players also suffer 230k damage every 2 seconds for 4 seconds.
Idea: Kite them around until there is a break in spawns and then run them over to the eye and aoe, being careful of who is in range of the explosions.
Once the eye opens up, finish off the adds and blobs before going inside.
Once inside the tree;
- Cursed Blood - Goes on a lot of people and constantly going out. --- Raid stacks in hit box, and de-buff players run out to drop their de-buff.
- Dark Reconstitution --- Run out before the cast is complete.
- Reabsorption -
- Final Torpor -
- *** Mythic: Violent Bloodburst
- ***Mythic: Shriveled Eyestock will cast Mind Flay.
Rinse and repeat. Each succession of adds on the outside will spawn differently each time you have to do phase 1. Tanks may have to split to tank the Dominator tentacles and kill order may change.

2 -
Heroic - Eye beams - I'm thinking we try holding still when one targets you to allow the rest of the raid to get out of the path, similar to Tyrant. The other suggestion IVe seen is having a designated direction to take it to that no one stands in - this could be complicated considering they spawn all over so the designated direction could be deceiving at times.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=92xokhw3AV8
Kill Dom Tentacles and then Death glare tentacle - Then collect all the blobs (10) and aoe them.
Nightmare horror will spawn - tank him away and point eye of fate away. Have to taunt on 2 stacks of eye of fate (increases damage taken by 50% - Use Cd on 2nd hit).
... Will have to swap to Corruptor tentacles.
(Its late - Ill finish this post tomorrow)
Don't forget....
Corruptors - face ground slam away.
Nightmare horror - taunt on 2
MYTHIC
NEW ABILITY for the Eye - Death Blossom - Several patches around the room. --- Someone has to soak the blossom by standing in it. (Get in it as soon as possible so everyone can pick which they are getting - if you are getting more than one use a CD) -- If blossom spawns in one inside the pool wait till the last second to soak it - make sure to call it out for raid.
NEW ABILITY for the blobs - Now need 22 blobs to kill the eye. They leave a 4 second stacking dot on you. Anything over 3 stacks will need a healing CD. --- Need to be killed in a staggered fashion. DO NOT get the melee de-buff (Touch of Corruption) on you. Anyone with 2 or more MUST be dispelled.
Strategy
First Phase 1
- Kill left Dom tentacle while raid is stacked under the right one. 4 blobs spawn and kill/stun them on the way over dying at the exact same time as to not stagger the de-buff. HEALING CD: SLT, HTT, AM
- Deathglare spawns - dot up and interrupt while you finish the 2nd Dominator. 4 blobs will spawn - do the same as the first set. HEALING CD: Tranq, SLT, HTT --- Going to kill both at the same time!
- Kill off the Deathglare and adds one by one making sure not to overlap blob de-buffs. Will soak first set of night blossoms.
- Night Horror will spawn - start dpsing it, but get ready to switch to 2 Corruptor and Deathglares that will be spawning next to the eye. Kite the blobs around and kill them off one by one (Lets mark with skull). Ranged focus the horror, (minus shadow priests, and one or two more possibly). As soon as one de-buff falls off, another should die immediately after. Morrine should hang out near eye to DG low adds.
- Horror will die - bring those adds to the eye one by one while soaking the next death blossoms.
- Next, will have 1 Deathglare and 2 corruptor, Kill them and then soak more death blossoms that come right after.
- There will be 2 extras if we kill them all correctly - kill them away from the eye then kill the 2 that we need. corruptor wills pawn - dot him up on the transition, then finish it off before you go in.
INSIDE THE EYE
- Corruption will be on the ground, so we are all stacked. ---If you get de-buff move tot he back, then spread out as soon as it goes away.
- Move out of the area corruption is going to spawn again, and be on the door side. As soon as de-buffs go out again, Run Speed boost and you need to run out of the room and spread out.
Second Phase 1
- 2 Doms - kill one while cleave/multi dotting the other. When first Dom dies, 2 Deathglares will spawn at the top- DPS switch. At the same time, kite the 4 blobs to the eye, killing them slowly, and finishing them all off at the same time once they get there. HEALING CD: SLT, HTT, AM HEALING CD: Tranq, SLT, HTT --- Going to kill both at the same time!
- Once de-buffs are gone, ranged dps move to the right hand side and kill of the corruptor tentacles. Melee stay behind and finish off the deathglares (and interrupting). Last Dominator should die around this point. Ranged prioritize the corruptor that wills pawn on the right hand side, so melee go back to Dom after deathglares are dead. (If its really low health, ranged can help finish it off so tank doesn't die). Meanwhile, melee start killing off blobs one by one. Should get 3 before next deathblossom comes in.
- There will be tons of adds up when these next death blossoms spawn. Do not choose to kite over soaking. You can be dispelled with the de-buff from the blobs, but if the raid takes the blossom explode we will probably wipe. During this time we are to keep killing them off one by one - keeping that de-buff back on immediate after the prior one drops off.
- First horror will spawn. Get dps out on him until 2 deathglares spawn around the eye, everyone switch. Range move to the left hand side to get more corruptor tentacles. ---- This is the messiest part of this encounter.
- Go back to the horrors. All the remaining blobs should be dead by the time the horror dies, which should be tanked near the eye so the 4 blobs that spawn can be close. Kill off all 4 at the same time (and can go in if we didn't fall behind). HEALING CD: Tranq, SLT, HTT.
- If we fall behind, and have to kill the next set of adds; 3 corruptors and 1 deathglare, then more blobs to kill and more tentacles. If we fall behind on killing the blobs IMMEDIATELY one after the other, this is where it will catch us.
Second INSIDE THE EYE
- 6 shriveled eye stalks will spawn around the room - Cast mindflay (91.1mil on the first tick). Can either interrupt them as much as can (8%health or less), or kill off first wave and then kill off the boss.
HERO Options
- 2nd outside phase on double Dom which means you can blow up all 8 blobs at the same time (Have to use both sets of cds)
- 1st time in the tree
More on Blobs
- Should keep the adds down to 20-50% health. -- Shadow priests and Hunters
- Serret/Zap will mark skull and call out which to focus/slow on.

Review/Notes
- Do not get hit with the melee from Blobs.
- Blobs need to die Immediately after previous de-buff falls off.
- Always soak a blossom over trying to kite a blob if it comes to it- we can dispel the de-buff.
- Keep blobs down to 20-50% when killing 1x1
- Inside tree, run 2nd de-buff outside the eye, and everyone out.
- Hero 1st time in the tree OR 2nd double set of Doms.
1. Both Doms & 8 blobs: SLT, HTT, AM, Tranq
2. Deathglare & Blob - interupts
3. Kill off blobs 1x1- night blossoms.
4. Start on Night Horror, switch to 2 corr & DGlare
5. Kill blobs 1x1, Kill Horror, and next blobs 1x1 - Blossoms.
6. Kill them all off and go in
Run Speed
Kera - In
Inx - Out - Odds Skull, Evens X
1. Both Doms & 8 blobs: SLT, HTT, AM, Tranq
2. Tanks Interupt DGlare
3. Ranged kill right Corruptors. Melee kill Dglares
4. Blobs before next Blossoms-----TONS of adds up----
5. Keep killing blobs 1x1
6. Start DPS horror, switch to 2 DGlares when spawned.
7. Ranged go left to more corruptors. --- MESSIEST PART (Lock Portal?)
8. Back to Horror - all blobs should be dead when this dies.
9. Tank it near eye, aoe all 4 blobs: Bubble, SLT, HTT

Changing the first blobs - going to split dps evenly on Doms, then explode all 8 blobs on the eye at the same time, for both Phase 1's.
We do not slow or stun them - Morrine will mass grip them to the eye and then we can stun and aoe.
We will start out standing between both Doms, and move a little away out of the explosion before they come out. Tanks can interrupt the deathglare.
I agree. 4+4 seems like strategy for earlier kills with less gear than we have. I like the Spirit Link on the Death Glare when 8 blobs blow up. Clear spot to group up. I also think we should put a small group melee on blobs full time since we are melee heavy and we need to react quickly to Corruptors with rdps.
We may want to assign quadrants for blossoms.
Other thoughts I had were splitting up how we exit from inside, and having those without the de-buff stay just outside the exit until the de-buff explodes on the others.
I plan to split sides left/right for Dom dps, so at the very least people should pick those sides for blossom soaking. We can knit-pick that a bit more once we see how it flows.
I found this:
https://www.reddit.com/r/CompetitiveWoW/comments/5haemn/mythic_ilgynoth_thoughts/
Are we using the Havoc DH Darkness spell for 8 blobs? I'm not sure if this stacks with two demon hunters, but we should try.

All healers need to dps the heart.
Consider Inx + Morrine as tanks and Grump dps.
Our heart dps seems low:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/GZLhVd1JxmtpnM8f#type=damage-done&target=65&boss=1873&wipes=1
Here is our blob kill spread (last pull):
Here is a better one:
We should avoid the double blob kills to avoid needless deaths. Here is our blob damage done:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/zwCZx9Y4MtFHhKjV#type=damage-done&fight=29&target=199
Some non-designated dps are doing a lot of damage to blobs, for example:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/zwCZx9Y4MtFHhKjV#type=damage-done&fight=29&target=199&source=50
New rule: if you are not in the blob dps club, you can only use single target damage abilities against skull or X (or 8 blob AOE). You are not allowed to cleave or do AOE to blobs.
Tighting up things to avoid needless deaths:
- Always kill left Corruptor tentacle first, try to prevent a cast by bursting it down. Then kill right.
- Tanks always on left Deathglare for interrupts and cleave (when Horror is up). Designate two melee for right Deathglare. It seems that Mindflay is cast 5 seconds after an interrupt.
Here are our interrupts:
https://www.warcraftlogs.com/reports/zwCZx9Y4MtFHhKjV#type=interrupts&boss=1873&wipes=1
Gold stars for Kerabatsos and Wasatch. Tanks need to re-prioritize to interrupts (also Shockerz and Grump).
Healing:
Do healers see targets of Nightmare Gaze? 22 deaths to unavoidable Nightmare Gaze:

JINX!
All damage to corruptors across all attempts. --- Who do we have focusing on just blobs, and who is on DGlare duty? I feel like a lot of people aren't switching to these corruptors quick enough, or maybe there are more classes with heavy ramp up time that I'm unaware of?
Damage done inside the eye on our best attempt. Looks like we were missing 5, one of which was a healer. Adding in that dps from the 4 dead would put us significantly father than previous attempts with 3 tanks.
Interputs - on our best attempt, we missed 19 DGlare interrupts. It looks like the 4th Deathglare just got left to cast for the majority of the time.
Interupts across all attempts. Last I checked Wasatch and Kera aren't even assigned to DGlares, yet they are blowing everyone else out of the water on interrupts AND Damage done to the corruptors.
Dispels across all attempts - Healers, don't forget to dispel Touch of Corruption (347,500 on mythic) when you can. Especially if someone has 2 stacks of it, this needs to be a priority.
If I had to give golden stars out, it would be Kera and Wasatch. Mechanics and plain ass good damage where its supposed to be when we need it.
The blob damage example here, is wonderful. Anyone not assigned to these should select your name under player and see when your damage to blobs is.... if there is any significant amount of damage going out to blobs any time other than the first 30 seconds, you need to re-think your priorities.
Thanks Serret. I love how we both focused on different areas, and we both were reviewing logs at the same time and posted literally within seconds of eachother haha.
Great minds think alike? lol
Nightmare Gaze - we can focus the eye and see who it is targeting. But likely, if they are really low when targeted we probably won't get them up in time before it hits them. Looking at each death individually to see what other damage they took previously could help as well. Being targeted 2 times in a row if we are already on the run with other damage or 2 stacks of blob explosion would be unavoidable in any respect.
****Also if you filter deaths after 4 deaths it shows much less. We stop healing when a wipe is called so a lot of people will die to that on a wipe call.
Lets go over job assignments to confirm who is doing what.
Inx and Morrine are tanking. When blobs are going down, they get interrupts on Deathglare.
Deathglare duty: Eiri and Jeeg + other tank when not tanking anyone else?
Blobs: Crueton dots, Grump, Eiri and Serret? Who else?
Corruption Hard switch Priority: I see the lowest DPS on corruptors from Warped (none) Shockerz and Cynda. I've been told locks have bad ramp up time, and target switching... I don't know about mages or ele sham. Should we have warped switch (at least when they aren't far) anyway? Should cynda and Shockerz be able to put out more?
Others were a little lower than they could be as well - all 3 hunters should easily be up where ash is at as well.
